Fall Prevention Technologies have been a specialist work at height service provider for the last 16 years, and is pleased to announce that we have added accredited work at height training to those specialist services to you as a client.

We are accredited by the Services SETA and are an approved training provider of the IWH (Institute for Work at Height). Courses that we offer can be presented either on your site or at our training centre based in Florida Hills.

Achievement results of all SETA accredited training is uploaded to the Services  SETA.  The trainee will also receive an IWH certificate of competence and licence to operate.

PURPOSE

This training is suitable for people working at height where there is a risk of injury of a fall. Learners will be involved in performing tasks at height.

DURATION

  • One day

PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD (229998)

  • Explaining the use and limitations of a limited range of fall arrest equipment and fall arrest plan
  • Inspecting, assembling and storing fall arrest equipment
  • Selecting suitable anchor points
  • Using fall arrest systems with a double lanyard
  • Using pre-installed vertical and horizontal life-lines

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid medical certificate of fitness (to work at height) signed by an OHP
  • Certified copy of ID Document (x 1)
  • All Trainees to be able to read and write in English
  • For onsite training – safe & secure structure of 6m and suitable training venue
  • Fall Prevention Technologies will provide all equipment required throughout the course

NQF LEVEL          CREDITS

  • Level 1              2

CERTIFICATES

  • Valid for 3 years
  • Results will be uploaded to the Institute for work at Height Professional Body – which will issue a license to operate
  • Results will be uploaded to SETA for the final certification

PURPOSE

This training is suitable for people working at height where there is a risk of injury of a fall. Learners will be involved in performing tasks at height. Qualifying learners are able to take responsibility for inspection and installation of a fall arrest system and implementing a fall protection plan including rescues.

DURATION

  • Three days

PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD (229995)

  • Explaining the use of a range of fall arrest equipment and knowledge of applicable regulations
  • Explaining and using basic rope knots
  • Installing and using fall arrest systems
  • Inspecting and assembling fall arrest equipment and systems
  • Interpreting and implementing a fall protection plan
  • Performing basic fall arrest rescues to bring a casualty down to safety

PURPOSE
This training is suitable for people responsible for the safety and protection of people working at height where there is a risk of injury from a fall. The learner will be responsible for the safety of others performing tasks at height. Qualifying learners are able to develop a fall protection plan for people working at height, required by the Construction Regulations 2014, Regulation 10(1).
